Speedy Transmission Repair and Maintenance

Speedy Transmission Repair and Maintenance

Regular maintenance and diagnostics are important to keeping your engine transmission working at peak capacity. Whether your car uses automatic or manual transmission, front or rear wheel drive, maintaining a healthy engine can save you time and money later on.

Transmission systems are one of the most intricate features of your vehicle. There are several parts that work together in a carefully orchestrated process to allow your engine’s power to drive the wheels. Hydraulic, electrical, mechanical systems work in harmony with computer controls. With such a complicated process, one worn or broken part can affect your entire car.

Pay attention to strange reddish leaks, abnormal acceleration levels, and odd vibrations. These can indicate transmission problems that need an immediate check by a qualified mechanic. Even if no changes are noticeable, you should have your transmission system checked periodically or according to your owner’s manual.

At Speedy Transmission, all of our mechanics are highly trained and experienced with all aspects of transmission, from final drive inspection to computer component failure. We offer a wide range of transmission services for automatic, manual, and high performance vehicles, including:

• Accessible Parts Replacement
• Complete Transmission Overhaul / Rebuild
• Complimentary Performance Checks
• Computer and Internal Diagnostics
• CV Boots and Axle Replacements
• Fluid Change
• Throttle Adjustment
• Transmission, Transfer Case, and Differential Leaks
• And more!

The technicians at Speedy Transmission are dedicated to providing our Knoxville customers with quality service, no matter the extent of repairs. We understand that your car is a large financial investment – you do not want to spend a fortune to get it repaired. Our prices are low and affordable. More importantly, we do not compromise the quality of repairs just because our prices are competitive.

Speedy Transmission Brake Check and Repair

Next to your gas pedal is the car part that you interact with most – your brakes. Your brake system does a lot of work to regulate your speed and keep you safe. Like the rest of the systems in your car, this requires regular maintenances.

Your vehicle’s brake light will often alert you to any present problems with your brake system. However, by then it may be too late. Faulty or worn brakes can be extremely hazardous to yourself and other drivers on the road. Do not ignore irregular noises from your car.

If you notice squeaking or increased distance for full stops, your brakes should be inspected by a professional mechanic. This may mean that your brake pads are dangerously worn. Additionally, a grinding noise may indicate that your brake pads and shoes have worn away completely. This means that your rotors or drums are being damaged and warped – an extremely dangerous scenario.

Speedy Transmission values the safety of our customers. While our prices are low, our mechanics maintain the highest standards when it comes to your vehicle. Our mechanics are experienced in all aspects of brake inspection and repair.  We have years of experience serving the Knoxville area.

Regular brake checks can ensure a healthy car, saving you money in the long run. Call Speedy Transmission today at (865) 584-5900 to get started.

Auto Air Conditioning and Heating

To say that Knoxville gets hot in the summer is putting it mildly. The heat can make your commute uncomfortable or miserable. It is important to keep your a/c and heating system in peak condition all year long.

There are several components to your a/c and heating system that can fail or wear down, whether or not you use them frequently. Your air conditioning system relies heavily on an expansion valve, compressor, condenser, and Freon. These parts work in sync to convert refrigerant into gas, cool it, convert it into gas, and finally send it out through vents.

Common problems can include:
• Low Cooling Performance
• Off and On Cooling
• Sour Odor from Vents
• Compressor or Hose Leaks
• Radiator Corrosion
• Blown Fuses or Wiring
• Loss of Lubrication in Compressor
• System Pressure in the Extremes

The Speedy Transmission team is experienced and highly-knowledgeable about HVAC (heating ventilation air conditioning) problems for individual vehicle models. We use the most efficient tests to determine the exact cause of your system’s difficulty during our free evaluation service.

You deserve to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We have helped hundreds of people throughout Knoxville keep cool. Call Speedy Transmission today at (865) 584-5900 to get started.

Auto General Maintenance

Routine maintenance is important to keeping your vehicle running smoothly for years to come. This is not something that is done when you see an existing problem. General maintenance is preventative. Certain parts need to be replaced or adjusted at specific intervals. By catching these problems before they occur, you can save a lot of money from spreading problems or even accidents.

Here at Speedy Transmission our mechanics are experienced in every aspect of automotive general maintenance. Our team has years of experience serving the San Antonio community. We offer an extensive list of general maintenance repair and replacement services, including:

• Oil and Oil Filter Maintenance
• Transmission Maintenance
• Cooling System Maintenance
• Brake System Maintenance
• Steering Maintenance
• Tire Maintenance
• Drive Line Service
• Alignment Adjustment
• And more!

Depending on the year and model of your car, there are set levels of recommended maintenance. Additionally, your mechanic can conduct other types of inspection, ranging from engine checks to brake checks. Don’t take your car’s good condition for granted.

With low prices and quick turnaround times, you owe it to your trusty car to have it checked by the best. Or call Speedy Transmission at (865) 584-5900 to find out more about our services or to schedule your next appointment.

Auto Suspension Repair

A well-maintained auto suspension is important to a long lifespan for your car. The suspension is essentially the support system of your car between the top and wheels. This is made up of Coil Springs (otherwise known as torsion springs), Shock Absorbers, Linkages and Struts. It is what absorbs every bounce (noticeable or not) as your vehicle travels over different terrains.

Over time, your vehicle’s ability to absorb this stress weakens. Left unchecked these damaged or eroded parts can lead to more problems throughout your vehicle, especially in the steering system. Driving with worn struts and shocks can increase the distance your car needs to stop, making driving potentially hazardous. At the least, this will make driving an unpleasant experience as you feel every rock and pothole on the road.

There are a few important warning signs for worn suspension systems:
• Is your vehicle bouncing excessively (more than normal) after bumps?
• Does your vehicle corner or brake dangerously?
• Do you tires wear down unevenly?
• Have you noticed any severe changes in your car’s alignment?

You owe it to your personal safety to have your suspension, alignment, and steering checked regularly, by dependable mechanics.

The experienced and savvy mechanics at Speedy Transmission know what to look for. With years of suspension work under our belts, we can help you keep your car running at peak performance. Throughout the years, hundreds of people throughout San Antonio have trusted us for their suspension repair and replacement needs.

Speedy Transmission offers free-evaluation. If you believe you may have a suspension or steering problem, our experienced mechanics discover your specific problem spots. Our services are also affordable and high-quality.

Tune Up

Because each car has a different manufacturer, model, and owner history, every tune-up is different. Here at Speedy Transmission, we take pride in providing all of our clients with FREE tune-up evaluation. This allows our mechanics to give your car the individualized attention it deserves. Your tune-up will be based on what your car needs to run healthy for a long time – we do not base this on a general formula.

Tune ups are important to maintaining the lifespan of your car and have been a defining point of auto repair for decades. This procedure was originally intended to provide optimum vehicle performance by adjusting the ignition coils and making sure they were “in tune.” Thus the name “tune up.”

Today, tune ups are a bit different, but nonetheless vital to maintaining your car in peak performance. Tune ups can have a variety of components, depending on your car. Your tune up may include the replacement or repair of:

• Air Filter
• Clutch Adjustment
• Distributor Caps and Rotors
• Fuel Filter
• Points and Condenser Change (for older cars)
• Spark Plugs (and Spark Plug Wires)
• Throttle Body Gaskets
• Valve Adjustment
• Valve Cover Gaskets

Please note that if you notice your car is running poorly or “acting up” a tune up may not be the solution for your situation. Tune ups are intended to maintain the ignition and engine of your car. Existing problems may be better served by a specific repair.

Take advantage of our free evaluation services. Our experienced mechanics will guide you to the best and most effective solution to your situation. We have many happy customers throughout the Knoxville area.
